Nepalese Cotton Production
Our fabric is produced by semi-automatic weaving looms. We use pure cotton for our threads. The beige thread is made out of raw cotton which is not laundered nor coloured. Therefore it is shrinking a little at initial laundering. The tradition al Nepalese manner of cotton weaving (so called 'Shyama') results in a weaving pattern which resembles linnen fabric. But of course, the cotton material is softer than linnen. Also, it is more pleasant on the skin.
Macro Photographs of Our Firmly Woven Cotton Fabric
Firmly woven cotton fabric weights roughly 200 gramms per meter. Shyama consists of pure cotton and is produced on semi-automatic looms. The fabric is not threated with chemicals. Also, it shrinks a little while initial laundering. Moreover, this material features an irregular surface texture which causes the material's resemblance to linnen.
Washing instructions: Maschine laundry up to 60 degrees Celcius
Macro Photographs of Our Finely Woven Cotton Fabric
The finely woven cotton fabric weights approximately 190 grams per meter. This material is produced with aid of semi-automatic looms, too. Only the thread is finer than the one used in manufacturing our solid cotton fabric.
Washing instructions: Maschine laundry up to 40 degrees Celcius
Macro Photogragraphs of Our Light Cotton Fabric
This Nepalese cotton material is called 'Kaddhar'. It is thin and ligh. Besides, it weights roughly 120 grams per meter. It is produced using semi-automatic weaving mills. This fabric shrinks upt to 10% upon the first washing because of its loosely woven structre.
Laundry instructions: Maschine washing at a temperature up to 40 degrees Celcius.
Macro Photographs of our Batist Cotton Fabric
Batist is a cotton fabric consitsting of pure cotton. It weights ca. 120 grams per meter. Moreover, this finely woven material is made out of prewashed and bleached cotton.
Laundry instructrions: Maschine washing at a temperature up to 90 degrees Celsius
Macro Photographs of Our Wool-Felt
This fabric will surely keep you warm. It weights roughly 600 grams per meter. The Felt consists of 65% wool, 14% polyester, 11% polyacrylic, 5,5% nylon, 4,5% cotton.
Laundry instructions: Maschine washing at up to 30 degrees celcius, use wool washing detergent.
